About Dairy Day at the Capitol
DBA members will visit the state Capitol to engage in meaningful discussions with legislators about a wide range of critical dairy and rural issues that impact both farmers and communities. This visit will provide an opportunity for our members to share their real-life experiences from the farm, offering firsthand insight into the daily challenges and successes of rural life. In these discussions, topics of importance will be addressed, including clean water initiatives, which are crucial for sustaining both the environment and agricultural practices; the dairy innovation hub, which aims to foster advancements in dairy farming technologies and practices; and the growing significance of agricultural exports, which contribute greatly to the economy and global food security.
Additionally, our members will advocate for locally focused transportation funding, ensuring that rural areas receive the necessary resources to maintain vital infrastructure that supports agriculture and local economies. Investments in new technologies and initiatives will also be highlighted, as these are key to driving innovation, improving efficiency, and maintaining the long-term sustainability of the dairy industry. Our members will also discuss other pressing issues that impact rural communities and the agricultural sector as a whole, emphasizing the need for thoughtful, forward-thinking policy solutions that support farmers, ranchers, and rural families across the state. This visit serves as an essential opportunity to create connections with lawmakers and advocate for policies that benefit both the agricultural industry and the state’s rural population.
